HOW TO GET HERE I
Milestones provides an easy-to-reach venue for shared experiences, seasonal events and memorable group days out in North Hampshire. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10am – 4.45pm in the heart of Basingstoke Leisure Park. Milestones Museum is an excellent indoor attraction with ample free parking and an onsite cafe.
HOW TO FIND US
Exit the M3 at junction 6 or 7. Follow signs for Basingstoke Leisure Park and Milestones. Free car parking is available in front of the museum. During event days parking at the front of the museum may be reserved for blue badge holders only. If this is the case please park in the other leisure park car parks and follow pedestrian signs to Milestones. On these very busy days we would suggest entering the Leisure Park from the West Ham Roundabout entrance and entering the leisure park car parks near to Buzz Bingo. This should mean that you avoid queuing by McDonalds and KFC.
For information on electric car charging please visit Electric vehicle charging points (information provided by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council).
There are two bus routes that you could take. Both can be boarded outside Basingstoke railway station or at the bus station.
Number 8 to Kempshott: This bus travels past the south side of the Leisure Park. Get off the bus at 'Greenway'. After you get off the bus, cross over the road and walk through the Leisure Park to the museum. This is a shorter bus journey but a longer walk.
Number 9 to Winklebury : This is a longer bus journey but a shorter walk. The bus travels in a loop around Winklebury which is to the North of the Leisure Park. Get off the bus at the Hampton Court stop on Winklebury Way. Cross the road and follow the path down towards the Leisure Park. When you find yourself walking through a tunnel painted in the style of a giant aquarium then you are in the right place! The museum is then on your left.
When you're going back towards the town centre this is a much shorter journey as the bus has already completed most of the loop.
Basingstoke has fantastic transport links to and from London, Reading, Southampton and many other major cities. Book your train direct here below.
There is an easy low-traffic walking and cycling route to Milestones from Basingstoke town centre and the train station. From Alencon Link go west travelling on the shared path on the north side of Churchill Way West. You’ll pass the flats and the play park on your right before you cross over Sinclair Drive at the pedestrian crossing and turn slightly right to take Churchill Way North. Turn right from Churchill Way North onto the shared path leading toward Houndmills, then go under the railway bridge then immediately turn left before you reach Fyffes. Take the footbridge to cross over the A340 dual carriageway and follow this path a short distance before turning left under the railway bridge. Milestones is then up the path on your left. Cycle parking is directly outside our museum in the car park. This route is about a mile and a half and should take about ten or fifteen minutes on a bicycle or about half an hour to walk.
