Bring the whole family along for a nostalgic seaside adventure at Milestones Museum this August bank holiday. Step back in time for a day of traditional seaside entertainment, hands-on activities and family fun - all included with your annual admission ticket.
Enjoy a packed programme of activities throughout the day, including:
• Get creative with the talented Oakley Stitchers, who will be hosting drop-in crafting sessions where you can make your own seaside-inspired keepsakes.
• Take a spin on the charming Toy Set Carousel.
• Build, decorate and race your own marble on the Giant Marble Run.
• Try your hand at traditional pier and fairground favourites, including the Pineapple Shy and Corn Hole, alongside all the usual museum pier activities.
• Pop into the Rooftops Café for a selection of delicious seaside-inspired treats and refreshments.
Jazz Band Seaside
Live Entertainment
Enjoy the sounds of traditional New Orleans jazz as Acoustic Jass bring their lively Dixieland style to Milestones Museum. With a repertoire spanning well-known jazz standards, blues, the Great American Songbook and popular tunes from the early twentieth century, they’ll be performing much-loved favourites inspired by legends including Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
Perfect for soaking up the atmosphere of our seaside summer fayre, this toe-tapping performance is sure to entertain visitors of all ages.

Punch and Judy Shows
Step back into a classic British seaside tradition with Punch and Judy! This much-loved duo will be bringing their lively slapstick antics and mischievous escapades to the fayre, with fun-filled performances for the whole family to enjoy.

Maypole Dancing Demonstrations & Have-a-go Sessions
Enjoy the colourful spectacle of traditional maypole dancing before having a go yourself! Learn the steps, join in the fun and create your own summer fayre memories with this historic celebration of music, movement and community.

There’s plenty to discover beyond the fayre too. Explore Milestones Museum’s recreated streets, step inside historic shops and homes, discover vintage vehicles and enjoy the sights, sounds and stories of everyday life from the past.
Whether you’re getting creative with crafts, joining in with traditional dances, enjoying live music, cheering on Punch and Judy or trying your luck at classic fairground games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
With all activities taking place inside the museum, you can enjoy a fantastic family day out whatever the weather.
