Food and drink at Milestones Living History Museum in Basingstoke is designed to make planning a comfortable, convenient family day out in Hampshire even easier.
ROOFTOPS CAFE
Our Rooftops Café is located on our upper level (on the same level as the museum entrance) and serves a selection of hot meals and light bites, with many vegan and allergen-friendly options.
You do not need to purchase a museum admission ticket in order to use the Rooftops Cafe.

Choose from comforting classics such as fish and chips, sausage-and-mash style dishes, jacket potatoes and freshly made sandwiches. Visitors can also enjoy cakes, ice creams and a range of barista-style hot drinks, making it easy to pause and recharge during a visit.

The Baverstock Arms
You’ll find additional refreshment points on the streets of Milestones, such as our own traditional British pub, The Baverstock Arms. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 noon, why not drop in for a refreshing pint and selection of bar snacks. The pub also serves teas, coffee and soft drinks. Open until 2.30pm on weekdays and 3.30pm at weekends and during school holidays.
Vintage Tea Tent
Running on weekends and school holidays, our seasonal vintage tea tent offers a great spot on the museum floor for a well-earned break. There's ample room for children to play or relax on our indoor lawn whilst you enjoy our selection of cakes, snacks and hot and cold drinks.
Picnics
Whilst Café tables are reserved for customers purchasing food and drink on site, there’s also a limited number of outdoor picnic benches available for those bringing their own food.
Due to the nature of our exhibits, we have no indoor picnic area. Please help us protect our collections by eating and drinking in designated areas only.

Sweet rationing ended in the UK in 1949, but you can still buy a 1940s sweet ration at Abrahams Sweet Shop. This is a firm favourite with visitors - why not pick up your ration’s worth of nostalgic niceties - Look out for the prompt when you buy tickets.
