Text - Uncover Their Story: Learn about your connection to WW1
Do you have a relative or family friend that served during the First World War? Bring their memory to life with a personal, one-to-one session with our resident WW1 expert.
Our volunteer historian has spent years studying the Great War, its regiments, campaigns, records, and the everyday lives of the men and women who lived through it. Share the name of your relative or friend in advance, and they'll dig into the archives to uncover their service history, the battles they may have fought in, and the wider story of their war.
How it works:
- Email us the name(s) of the family member(s) or friend(s) you'd like researched, along with any details you already have (regiment, dates, photos, etc.) The more we have, the more we can find. Please email milestones@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk
- We'll be in touch to confirm what's been uncovered and arrange a convenient time for you to visit. Please be aware sessions only take place fortnightly on Thursdays. If you wish to attend a session with our expert, please bear this in mind.
- Meet your historian at Milestones Museum for a guided walk-through of their findings, with time for your questions.
This experience is offered free of charge for those with a annual admissions ticket. Whether returning to Milestones or coming for the first time, this is the perfect way to make your visit even more memorable.
Please note sessions with our resident expert run fortnightly on Thursday and must be booked via email. You must hold a valid admission ticket to attend your meeting.
