WHAT OUR VISITORS SAY

This was a great day out for the family, it's quirky and fun. It's really spacious and we let our 2 year old run around and there were no worries at all. The staff were all really helpful and lovely. And what's better is you can buy a ticket and revisit as many times within the year!

This was our third visit to the Museum and our girls had a wonderful time. They are 13 yrs old and went around by themselves. Us three adults wandered around reminiscing at the items we ourselves remember our parents using and explaining this to our adult daughter who found it fascinating. The Cafe was good value for money, it was clean and the food was delicious.

A real gem. Hands on, so great for kids, we spent 2½ hours in the museum and our grandchildren 10 and 12 loved it, we found it very educational for them. We had a light lunch in the cafe which we can recommend. Free parking, and plenty of it and there’s often extra attractions running in school holidays.

We spent four hours there and the time just flew by — there was so much to see and enjoy! The exhibits were excellent, beautifully curated, and full of fascinating details. I highly recommend Milestones Museum for a day out with family.

Our visit with a group of elderly adults living with dementia was truly a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a journey through time that was both engaging and wonderfully nostalgic.

Wonderful museum. It’s quiet and thoughtful, but with loads for kids to do and inspiring to the imagination. Particular shoutout to the gentleman who works in the gramophone shop; he had my 5 and 8 year-olds totally rapt! Absolutely fascinating information and delivered in such a way that the kids loved it! Would visit again for the gramophone shop alone!

Lovely place with great staff. Had my dad's 90th here with a buffet in the tea tent. We were looked after like vip's. The food was amazing and plentiful. We had all ages with us down to 2 years old and a great time was had by all. Well worth a visit.

Well worth the pennies, especially if you grab the special afternoon ticket deal. You need a couple of hours, even with a distracted child. Loads of hands on elements, lovely coffee shop, fabulous range of things to see. Indoors for rainy days and recovering from sunburn!

Somewhere I've been wanting to visit for a very long time. finally managed to recently and wasn't disappointed. Amazing, so much to explore, plenty of things to see, buildings to walk in, plenty of vehicles too. All nicely laid out, we spent a good 3 hrs exploring everything.

The staff/volunteers at the museum were outstanding. The lady in the sweet shop was delightful, friendly and funny. The man on the tram was so interesting and knowledgeable. I took my son and my dad with me on my visit and we all had such a good time.

Perfect for kids, as placing exhibits in context enables much better understanding of past life. You can enjoy a pint in the working pub, buy some old-fashioned sweets in the sweet shop, get some great coffee and cake or a proper breakfast/lunch in the cafe.

We spent a very enjoyable few hours wandering round, learning about the areas industrial heritage and playing on the classic arcade. Overall a really well thought out museum, very nice cafe and well stocked gift shop. All this, and your entrance ticket is valid for a year so you can go back again for nothing, good value over all.
